Happy Diwali!

In continuation with our series of Tech Talks tracking digital trends in construction industry, we present to you our view on Cloud collaboration in construction industry. As we are aware, construction industry is the second least digitalized industry. Construction work isn’t just field work, it involves architects, design and execution engineers at project sites, who have been working using traditional collaboration tools, such as, email, FTP, etc.

The challenges posed by CoVid pandemic and remote work are here to stay. This has hastened the adoption of cloud based collaboration tools by the industry. These tools not only ensure information flow in real time between design office and project sites but also ensures that no data is lost in translation.

Cloud collaboration has many benefits, such as, ease of access, working on current and correct data, ensuring that all stakeholders have access to Design drawings, Models and Documents that live in the cloud, this coupled with automated workflow’s and issue logging frees up a lot of time lost in documentation and data retrieval for the project stakeholders, making them more productive and efficient. Version control is another key benefit of cloud collaboration wherein , it is ensured that all the stakeholders refer to the same drawing or document. I am sure many of us must have faced this issue of version mismatch between the stakeholders in our projects !
We at GHL, have migrated from traditional collaboration and have adopted cloud collaboration as the new normal.
Below is a small video demonstrating the advantages of Cloud Collaboration.
